Welcome to Homeschooling!

If you're just getting started with homeschooling your children, welcome! We're here to help make this exciting decision the best possible experience for your family, so we'd like to provide a little introduction, a bit about just who we are and why we think we can help.

We are Mark and Helen Hegener, and we homeschooled our own five now-grown children, and we work with homeschooling families every day, including our homeschooled grandkids! We understand homeschooling because we are longtime homeschoolers, and so is every person on our staff.

We understand that homeschooling can be a completely new way of learning and growing and living together as a family. There is no one right way to homeschool, no surefire method to homeschooling success, so we at Home Education Magazine won't try to offer you one. What we will offer, in the links below and throughout this site, is help finding good information and resources, along with plenty of encouragement and networking opportunities.

We can make it easy and exciting to become part of the friendly homeschooling community by helping you find a good homeschool support group in your area, and we can help you find the most helpful online networking and discussion groups, no matter what your specific interests.

In short, we at HEM can help you find all the resources and encouragement you'll need to make your family's homeschool learning adventure a success!
